Vienna, Austria – The grand halls of the Musikverein resounded with an extraordinary symphony of voices and instruments on 1 February 2025, as the much-anticipated benefit concert, Sounds of Spring – Harmonie der Welt, took center stage. Organized by the Youtuo Classical Music Institute, this remarkable event brought together world-class musicians to support two vital causes: the UN Women’s Guild Vienna and ORF’s Licht ins Dunkel.
The concert showcased an impressive lineup of performers, including the ORF Radio Wien Choir, Wiener Domorchester, and the China National Opera House, under the masterful direction of Rainer Keplinger and Xiaoyuan Zhang. The audience was captivated by stunning performances from internationally renowned soloists such as soprano Monica Eröd, mezzo-soprano Li Yang, tenor Hiroshi Amako, and bass Adrian Eröd.
A highlight of the event was the inclusion of the Frühlingsstimmen-Chor, whose harmonies embodied the spirit of renewal and hope. The program featured a rich repertoire of classical and contemporary pieces, seamlessly weaving together diverse musical traditions to create a truly universal celebration of harmony.
This benefit concert served not only as a testament to Vienna’s rich cultural heritage but also as a beacon of solidarity. Funds raised will go towards supporting UNWG Vienna’s charitable initiatives for women and children worldwide, as well as ORF’s Licht ins Dunkel, which has been aiding disadvantaged communities in Austria for over five decades.
“We are honoured to use the power of music to bring people together for such meaningful causes,” said one of the event organizers. “Tonight’s concert is a celebration of unity, diversity, and the transformative impact of the arts.”
“On behalf of the United Nations Women’s Guild, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of ‘The Sounds of Spring’ for their generosity in making UNWG one of its beneficiaries,” said Ruiqing Zhou. “Their support will help us continue our mission of assisting children in need worldwide.”
The Sounds of Spring – Harmonie der Welt at Musikverein was not just a concert—it was a moving experience that underscored the power of music to inspire and uplift, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
